This policy applies to published clusters and anything else you make visible to other people through Planckstar. It forms part of the Terms of Use.
Private clusters are yours. We do not review them, and this policy is not a licence to go looking. But content that is illegal to possess remains illegal wherever it is stored, and we will act on a credible report or a lawful order.
The report form lists the reasons people pick most often. Two of the categories below — misuse of the service, and self-harm — do not have a reason of their own yet; report those as Something else and say what you saw, and they are treated exactly the same way.
Not allowed
Sexual content involving minors
Zero tolerance, no context, no exceptions. This includes drawn, rendered, generated or written material. We remove it, terminate the account permanently, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement as required by law.
Other sexual content
No pornographic or sexually explicit imagery in published clusters. Planckstar has no age gating and clusters are public to anyone with a link.
Educational, medical and artistic material discussing sexuality is fine.
Violence and threats
No credible threats against anyone. No incitement or glorification of violence, no praise for violent extremism or terrorism, no instructions for making weapons intended to harm people.
Documenting violence for journalism, research, history or advocacy is allowed when the purpose is clear.
Harassment and hate
No targeting individuals with abuse, no coordinated pile-ons, and no publishing private information about someone without their consent — home address, phone number, workplace, identity documents.
No content attacking people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
Illegal content and activity
Nothing unlawful where you are or where we operate: no trade in controlled substances, weapons, stolen goods or stolen data; no fraud; no instructions for serious crimes.
Spam and deception
No bulk unsolicited content, engagement farming, or clusters that exist only to funnel people elsewhere. No phishing, no fake giveaways, no impersonating a business to collect money or credentials.
Impersonation
Don't claim to be someone you're not. Parody and commentary are fine when it is plain from the content that it is parody.
Infringing content
Don't publish work you have no right to publish. Copyright complaints go to our designated agent — see Copyright complaints in the Terms of Use.
Malware and abuse of the service
No malicious files or links. No attempts to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to Planckstar or other users' accounts. No scraping beyond ordinary browsing.
Self-harm
No content that encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders, and no instructions or methods.
Recovery stories, research and support resources are welcome. If you are struggling, please talk to someone — in the US you can call or text 988; elsewhere, findahelpline.com lists local services.
Reporting
Any signed-in user can report a published cluster with the Report button on its page. Pick the closest reason and describe what you saw — the description is required, because a reason alone doesn't tell us where to look.
One report per person per cluster. More reports do not make review faster.
We do not tell the author who reported them.
What happens next
We review reports and may remove content, unpublish a cluster, or restrict, suspend or terminate an account.
For clear violations, or where the law requires it, we act immediately and without warning. For borderline cases we will normally contact you first. For minor or first-time issues we usually start with removal and a warning.
Repeated or severe violations end in permanent termination. Termination for a violation does not entitle you to a refund.
Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, write to support@planckstar.com with the cluster address and what you believe we missed. A person will look again. Say so if there is context we could not have known — we would rather correct a mistake than defend one.
Changes
We may update this policy as we learn what actually shows up. Material changes come with at least 30 days' notice.
